  • The Engagement

Tom and I got engaged on December 7th, 2009 during “The Last Piece of Cake;” a cabaret starring Tom Privitere (Groom) and Vinnie Costa (Wedding Party). I was playing percussion. As you can see, I was completely shocked when the proposal came. Luckily we will always have this video to remember that beautiful moment.

Ken proposed to me on Christmas Day and I don’t even have a picture :( It’s crazy that we’re getting married a week apart! And guess what, we’ll be in Mexico 11-18!!!

Well, Krisitn, AGAIN, is steps ahead of me. When I saw the date of your engagement, I immediately felt chills. Not just for you ( Not ALWAYS about you, Tom, :~) but, yes., Michael and I were engaged on Dec.7, 1969, and, unaware of that,Tim was engaged 40 years to the day later. Santa Merda !!

P.S. Now, enough about me….Congratulations to you, and I couldn’t be happier to know how happy Tom is. In 33 years of teaching, memories of Tom remain etched in my memory —–Tom, you are one of my all-time favorites. I wish you a life filled with laughter, fulfilled dreams, and, much love. Brian, you must be a very special guy. Tom, I wouild love to hear from you. Jo C.

Brian & Tom, although we’ve never met, I’d like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your engagement video with the world. I watched it with my 7 yr old daughter who’s trying to figure out how a little girl who “likes” other little girls fits in with her hetero sister and friends. Thank you for showing her that the love of a good person is what we all look for in our lives, that same-sex couples can love just like mom & dad, and that boys can marry other boys–the logistics of which gave her a headache because she just couldn’t figure out how they were going to eat (assuming that all boys are as bad at cooking as her father). xoxo C.

Brian…how special you are. Please tell Tom that I’m keeping up with you blog, and am so happy for him…for you both. I was his 11th grade English teacher, and I love him dearly.
